I'm alive!

Well, I've been away for quite some time now. I was actually still here all the time and I wanted to write something on here quite badly, but couldn't really figure out what. Here is a short update on what has been going on in my world of scale modelling and my love for the Napoleonic era. :-)

A small video

So I'm planning to make a short video about referece material. I'm still fiddling with the setup of the camera, a thing that turns out to be a real pain in the butt. Secondly, it's going to be quite awkward because I've never made a youtube video before and English isn't my native language. But no matter! I just gonna give it my best shot. ;-)

Napoleonic diorama 1/32 scale - Part 1

A week ago I orderd a couple of 1/32 scale boxes. Some Bavarian units and a few French. They will arrive tomorrow and I'm jolly excited to be honest. I'll keep you lot updated with a couple pictures of the kits and the painting that follows!

The era of Road Racing - The Cars

Road racing is, sadly, a thing from the past. There are still some street-circuits, but legends like the Mille-Miglia, Targa Florio and the old Spa circuit (I think Spa is still awesome though). Most of these races are gone because of the extremely fast prototype cars of the early 70's.

CAN-AM? Anyone?

During the mid-60's and early 70's, the Canadian-American races were the most exciting races to watch (together with F1 ofcourse). Almost no rules on aerodynamics, engine size or hp. Turbocharged Porsche 917's, Ferrari 712's and Chevy powered McLarens. It all happened during the glory days of the Can-Am championship.

Company, Halt!

As you may have noticed, I haven't put a 'Leipzig project' update up recently. This is mainly because I have a lot of miniatures to paint and because I had some other activities lately. So I've decided to halt the Leipzig project for a couple of weeks and focus on making a small ambush-like diorama first.

Being born in the wrong era..

Sometimes I really think I was born in the wrong period in history. If I look at paintings from the American Revolution I get an urge to be there. Life was much more peaceful back then (except for the wars ;-)).
