Well, I've been away for quite some time now. I was actually still here all the time and I wanted to write something on here quite badly, but couldn't really figure out what. Here is a short update on what has been going on in my world of scale modelling and my love for the Napoleonic era. :-)
First, I had this Mini-art kit laying around for about two years now. I didn't want to finish it because it was one of the worst fitting kits ever, a lot of putty, sweat and sanding was needed there. But I think the final product was quite reasonable!
I also bought a T-90, some Spetsnaz and a modern tank crew form Zvezda. The T-90 is one of the most detailed looking kits I've ever made and if you look at the price of the kit itself it's really good value in my opinion! The only thing that remains is to spray the T-90 and fit the tracks, but I'll do that in the near future. The Spetsnaz soldiers are quite reasonably detailed I guess, the reason I bought them is to make a nice diorama together with the tank, I was thinking about an urban setting, maybe in some street in Paris. ;-)
I think I might re-do the right soldier and give him the same camo the left guy has! |
The amount of detail is just amazing.. |
And last but not least... I fell in love with 28mm Napoleonics! I only looked at 1/72 for napoleonic soldiers all those years, but after some googling I came across Perry Miniatures (the guys who did most of the Warhammer models), Victrix miniatures and 'Black Powder'! So I decided to throw most of the 1/72 models away because of their massive lack of detail, a thing that I really hated, and buy some Perry Miniatures Austrian 'German' Infantry! I'm not the best painter in the world as you may have noticed, but I really enjoy painting these models. Updates on them will follow!! :-)
The box, I have no pictures of the sprue sadly! |
